When you are involved in an accident or a collision, please remember YOU choose who will repair your car!
Been rear-ended, sideswiped or had your car damaged by a crash? Covered by insurance? Well, by checking your Product Disclosure Statement (PDS), you have the right to select the repairer of YOUR CHOICE, not who you might be told to use.
Note it is imperative that you nominate who you want to repair your vehicle when you lodge your claim. These are your rights and you can double check via the MTA Queensland website – www.mtaq.com.au and/or your own PDS with your insurer.
The MTA Queensland recommends and endorses insurers who offer Choice of Repairer in their Product Disclosure Statement.
Todays cars have many high tech components such as SRS – airbags/sensors, alloy steels/crumple zones as well as sophisticated electronic systems therefore means having the right equipment as well as trained technicians in order to repair the vehicles according to the manufacturers technical specifications is in keeping with the Code of Conduct.
The Motor Trades Association of Queensland (MTA Queensland) is the peak body representing the interests of over 2,500 employers in the retail service and repair sectors of Queensland’s automotive industry. All MTA Queenslands NACA (National Auto Collision Alliance) members not only work to the Motor Vehicle Insurance and Repair Industry Code of Conduct, but also abide by the MTA Queenslands strict Code of Ethics.
